Why PvP is rare in idle games

Almost every idle, incremental, or clicker game is single-player: you build up numbers in your own private world with no one to compete against. It's relaxing, but it can get lonely and stale once the numbers stop meaning anything. Empire War keeps the satisfying idle progression — passive income, upgrades, prestige — and adds a living, competitive world of real players you can raid, defend against, and outrank.

How hostile takeovers work

A takeover is a calculated gamble — you risk cash and AP for a shot at skimming a rival's income:

• Each attack costs 30 Action Points plus a cash stake (5% of your cash, minimum $1,000).
• Win and you skim 20% of the target division's income for 4 hours, paid out over time, and take the cash stake from your target.
• Lose and you forfeit your stake — attacking isn't free, so pick your targets.
• You can launch up to 5 attacks per day, with an 8-hour cooldown before hitting the same target again.
• Attacked players get a 4-hour defensive shield and a free retaliation strike (with a damage bonus) for 12 hours.

Build attack and defense teams

PvP isn't just a dice roll. You assign employees to an attack team and a defense team, and their skills tilt the odds. Security and Operations specialists are especially valuable, and how you build and rotate your roster decides whether your raids land and your divisions hold. It rewards the same optimization instinct that makes idle games satisfying — just against real opponents.

Fair fights for new players

PvP unlocks at CEO Level 11, so brand-new players get room to grow first. From Level 11 to 15 you can only be matched against companies within ±5 levels of you; at Level 16+ the gloves come off and the whole market is fair game. And because AI-controlled rivals like Stratton Oakmont, Gekko & Co, and Cyberdyne Systems populate the world, there's always a target to hit even when human rivals are shielded.
